How much cash do you need on transfer day?

Transfer costs are not one single fee. There is the transfer fee itself, then either specific business tax or stamp duty, plus withholding tax — and different sides normally pay different parts. Enter the numbers to see what your side needs.

Read this before using the figures — fees are calculated on the Land Department appraised value, which is usually well below the actual sale price. If you do not know it yet, treat the result as an upper bound. Specific business tax applies when the seller has owned the property for under 5 years and has not been on the house registration for a full year; otherwise 0.5% stamp duty applies instead.
These figures are a planning estimate only. Government fee-reduction measures come and go in some years and carry price conditions, and when the seller is a company the withholding tax is calculated differently (1% of the higher value). Confirm with the local Land Office before transfer day.
